Celebrating Olympic & Paralympic Athletes

In 2019, we celebrated International Day of the Girl at the Fast & Female Breakfast presented by Deloitte 100+ of the Calgary business community gathered and together we raised over $50,000 to empower girls to stay in sport.

In 2020, we’re going virtual to celebrate International Day of the Girl with a three-part web series that will showcase Olympic and Paralympic athletes who would have been in Tokyo this summer. Our final celebration keynote will be Waneek Horn-Miller. Olympic athlete, activist, broadcaster, a Mohawk from Kahnawake, Quebec, was co-captain of Canada’s first Olympic women’s water polo team and a gold medallist in water polo at the 1999 Pan American Games.

She is a well-known activist for Indigenous rights and a prominent role model, mentor and advocate for youth involvement in sports.
