Fast and Female 4th Annual International Day of The Girl Fundraiser

In 2019, we celebrated our 3rd annual International Day of the Girl at the Fast & Female Fundraiser Breakfast presented by Deloitte. 100+ of the Calgary business community gathered to support Fast and Female. Together we raised over $42,000 to empower girls to stay in sport.

In 2020, we’re going online with a three-part virtual series to celebrate International Day of the Girl and raise funds for Fast and Female programming. The series will highlight Team Canada Olympic and Paralympic female athletes and hopefuls for Tokyo 2021, and their experiences with leadership, resilience and the power of sport.

Our Team Canada Tokyo 2021 Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls are: Temi Ogunjimi – Rugby, Skylar Park – Taekwondo, Miah-Marie Langlois – Basketball, Kara Douville – Para Cyclist, Katarina Roxon – Para Swimming, and Erica Gavel – Wheelchair Basketball.

Our final celebration keynote is Waneek Horn-Miller. Olympic athlete, broadcaster, a Mohawk from Kahnawake, Quebec, co-captain of Canada’s first Olympic women’s water polo team and a gold medallist in water polo at the 1999 Pan American Games. She is a well-known activist for Indigenous rights and a prominent role model, mentor and advocate for youth involvement in sports.

This powerful three-part series will take place virtually over Zoom in the first week of October 2020. Mark your calendars and join us for:

  • Our Tokyo 2021 Olympic Panel on October 1, 2020, at 12pm MDT*
  • Our Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Panel on October 5, 2020, at 12pm MDT*
  • Our Keynote Speaker on October 7, 2020, at 12pm MDT*

Ticket options are as follows:

  • $20 – to join ONE virtual session
  • $50 – to join ALL THREE virtual sessions
  • Donation of any amount (without a ticket)

All funds raised through this celebration of International Day of the Girl will support our 2021 programs that remove barriers to girls participation in sports.
