BUILT TO RUN: WOMEN'S ONLY RUNNING

WHAT IS THE BUILT TO RUN PROGRAM?

Our Built to Run (BTR) Women’s Only Running program and club is an initiative first started by Fast and Female Supporting Women in Sport Foundation and Girls & Women in Motion (GWIM), a grassroots organization in Scarborough (ON). BTR builds community through running and walking for women and gender-diverse individuals ages 18+. Participants meet weekly at a designated location in their community for 60 minutes. Our Run Leads lead each session, including a warm-up, a 3-5 km course that everyone does at their own pace, a cool down, snacks and networking. Each BTR program is in preparation for a local, organized run in which Fast and Female is listed as a charity of choice.

Our inaugural program took place from April to June 2023, thanks to a donation to GWIM in late 2022. The program ran for six weeks in Scarborough in preparation for the 2nd annual Scarborough 5k!

If interested in bringing or sponsoring a BTR program in your community, or if you’d like to explore collaboration opportunities, feel free to contact us at builttorun@fastandfemale.com!

Our Built To Run Program is a FREE running program that our experts have designed to be an inclusive and engaging way to connect with others, build community, and encourage movement (and try running even if it’s your very first time!). While it’s a completely free program to join, we do ask you to consider supporting us in one of the following ways:

Donate – a one-time donation or become a monthly donor
Fundraise on our behalf – create a fundraising page here and fundraise for Fast and Female
Spread the word – help share our cause with others in your community. Reshare or repost our message on social media. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of others to ensure we can continue empowering girls and women through sport, physical activity, and education.
