Feature Friday: Brittney Gibbs
Brittney Gibbs is one of our inspiring REAL (Relatable, Empowered, Active Leaders) Role Models. She will be speaking to a group of participants next week to inspire and empower them, and take them through a group activity! Brittney Gibbs has been involved with Fast and Female since 2020, being a Role Model at our virtual summit series in 2020 and 2021. This week we are excited to feature Brittney!
Brittney has a passion for sport, being involved as an athlete, and is now in her career. Her athletic journey started in gymnastics, later transitioning into track and field. She is a former National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athlete where she competed in track and field at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). Her main events were in horizontal jumps, including triple jump and long jump. In long jump, she has a personal best of 5.58 metres and 12.32 metres for triple jump. Her athletic ability earned her a Track and Field scholarship at SUIE. Brittney has an undergraduate degree in Health Education. After her undergrad, she continued her studies to get a Master’s degree in Kinesiology. She specialized in exercise and sport psychology. This has brought her into a career as a recreation coordinator and mental performance coach. Brittney is the owner of The Mind Game, a sport psychology consulting agency. She uses her personal experience of the mental struggles that athletes can experience to help athletes perform their best through mental training. She continues to be involved in the track and field community, competing as an open athlete and coaching for local clubs. Thank you for continuing to inspire girls in your community!
