Introducing the Girls Run Running and Walking Training Program
The Girls Run in Canmore, AB, is less than eight weeks away! In preparation for race weekend, we have designed a running and walking program to get you ready for the event!
This running and walking program was created by Sasha Gollish, a Team Canada Runner, having competed in everything from the 1500m to the marathon on the world stage and a Fast and Female REAL Role Model. Gaining inspiration from her mom, Sasha has been running for most of her life. In 2021, Sasha set the W35 Canadian national record in the mile at age of 39, with a time of 4:23.17! She has competed in running, cycling, duathlon and triathlon and has also taken up ultimate frisbee. Sasha loves being active and giving back to the community. Thank you, Sasha, for creating the program to inspire girls preparing for the Girls Run to love running as much as you do!
With the Girls Run right around the corner, and the weather warming up, now is the perfect time to get out and active with your friends and family members! Regardless of your level, these programs are for you! This weekly program provides our participants with a schedule to conquer your goals. We can’t wait to see you get moving!
Can’t make it to Canmore for the Girls Run? You can still use these programs to get outside and active!
Be sure to snap a photo of yourself walking or running and email it to us at programs@fastandfemale.com or tag us @fastandfemale!
“Remember to balance this training with other activities you have in your life. You can also count walking and biking to and from school or other activities as part of your training. And remember, if you need advice, I’m just a click away. Reach out on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook @SGollishRuns.”
