INTRODUCING THE 2024-2026 YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL

Fast and Female is thrilled to announce the formation of our second Youth Advisory Council (YAC), building upon our inaugural YAC, established in 2021. This year, we welcome 12 dynamic new members representing Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick. Their diverse perspectives and shared passion for empowering girls through sport and physical activity will be invaluable as we continue our mission.

The YAC was created to develop young women’s leadership skills and ensure that our programming is guided through a “For the Girls, By the Girls” lens. Meeting virtually across all Canadian time zones, the council collaborates monthly to brainstorm and contribute to developing and delivering Fast and Female’s programming. Members commit between 3 to 10 hours monthly, depending on their roles and availability. As we embark on this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing YAC members who have completed their terms. Their dedication, insights, and hard work have significantly shaped our programs and inspired countless girls nationwide. Our outgoing YAC members supported us in key projects, including our virtual programs, in-person events, hosting their own events, the creation of our Empowered Eats Cookbook, writing blogs, Instagram takeovers, and even designing limited edition apparel. Thank you for your invaluable contributions and for paving the way for future leaders!!!

The incoming council members will continue to uphold Fast and Female’s values of inclusion, social change, fun, and empowerment. We are excited to see the innovative ideas and energy that this new council will bring. We look forward to the continued growth and success of the YAC as we work together to empower the next generation of leaders through sport and physical activity.
