Sport Background – Special Olympics Figure Skating

Favourite sport/ physical activity – Contemporary dance, therapeutic horseback riding and horsemanship.

Favourite post workout snack– My father’s Banana Bread

Favourite pump-up song – “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman. It is my skating solo music.

Biggest inspiration – Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir and Patrick Chan. Their love and dedication for the sport and the way they give back to the community inspires me to work hard and volunteer to help others. I was honoured and excited to be able to skate with them on their tour!

Advice for your 12-year-old self: You will never stop learning and growing!

How did you first get involved with Fast and Female?

I have been active in our community as a participant and volunteer, but “an employment” was not something realistic because of my Down syndrome diagnosis.

One day, Mom found a part-time employment ad in Fast and Female Facebook page, and she had a fabulous idea for me. She contacted and asked them if I can apply as a “Team” with her and my long-time aide, Stacy. They gave me a chance!

Now I am learning the new tasks and responsibilities with a lot of help. This opportunity has opened new challenges for me to grow. Thank you so much. I am immensely proud of being part of the Fast and Female team!
